On August 15th, 2019, President Trump implicated big pharma in keeping drug prices high and not giving seniors a choice to choose lower prices. Here is what the President said:
Our ambitious campaign to reduce the price of prescription drugs has produced the largest decline in drug prices in 51 years. The only decline in 51 years. We have launched a historic initiative to require price transparency, empowering you to choose the lowest price for yourself and for your family. Believe it or not, you didn’t have the right to go in and price your drugs. Who could even believe this? I wonder if big pharma had something to do with that. So we’re going to have transparency.
This is a step in beginning to bring accountability to big pharma. But President Trump needs to go much further. He needs to hold big pharma accountable for the hundreds of thousands of serious vaccine injuries and the thousands of vaccine deaths.
How about transparency in holding big pharma accountable for the lack of improvement in vaccine safety and not reporting as required by the 1986 vaccine safety act? How about accountability and disclosure over the revolving door between big pharma and the CDC, the Centers for Disease Control, the national agency regulating and mandating vaccines. How about transparency in the donations received by many candidates from big pharma? How about transparency in the tripling of the vaccine schedule of recommend vaccines since restrictions were instated on suing pharmaceutical companies for vaccine injuries? How about transparency on who and what is behind the push in virtually every state to remove religious and conscientious vaccine exemptions?
Yes, President Trump, recognition of this manipulation by big pharma is a good first step, but much more needs to be done.
