Simone' counsels her peers at Kramer Middle School |
8th Grade Club members at Kramer Middle School lead peer counseling sessions for two 8th grade and one 7th grade class. They explained their reasons for staying abstinent, and asked the students questions after playing video clips of situations where pressure was being applied to get sexually involved. Participating students got to think through why it is best to resist pressure to be sexually involved, and they were reminded that the majority of teens are not having sex. |

Mr. Ken Tracy of the Capitol Hill Kiwanis Club was the featured guest speaker at the February 1st meeting of the Eastern Senior High School ULTRA Teen Choice Service Club. Mr. Tracy shared about his experience rising through the ranks from being a ditch digger to a Vice President with Washington Gas Company. He explained that the amount of money that one makes is not the most important goal in life; the more money you make the more money you will most likely spend on higher priced items. The doors are wide open to today's students if they will make the most of the opportunities available. Mr. Tracey even explained how his knowledge of Latin gained in high school helped him in winning the affection of his wife! |
View Reality Check Video The video is superb! I am really touched and inspired by the work you are committed to. I wish such a program existed when I was at Kramer. The mission and purpose is nothing but positive. The best things in our world sometimes seem to get the least support. But I know that this program will expand and reach those who make it happen as well as those whom you service. Montrella Cowan: Catholic University Student.
